Sid: When you get ahold of this translation “The Power New Testament – Revealing Jewish Roots.” You’re going to… if you thought you were red hot you won’t be able to put this down because this is the only New Testament that I know that not only is it called “The Power New Testament” because it brings out the tenses, and the power, the punch if you will in the New Testament that most other translations do not. It also explains the Jewish roots and the idioms, and the customs of the day. If you didn’t understand this you would miss so much. I have the translator on the telephone Bill Morford. Bill I believe that you got such…in addition to studying Greek.  What particular Greek translation did you use for this particular New Testament?

Bill: I used the 4th Edition of the United Bible Society.

Sid: Now why did you use that one?

Bill: Because the United Bible Society is a group of Greek scholars meeting in Germany. There whole life work is studying the ancient Greek manuscripts and determining which ones are closest to what the author would have written in the first century. They use a study method called Textural Criticism, and that’s essentially the same type approach in determining the proper text for the ancient Greek classics.  So it’s a very familiar pattern that they follow.

Sid: Now Bill I come from an Orthodox Jewish background, but I’m 21st century Orthodox Jewish background. I don’t understand the idioms that were common place when the New Covenant was penned. For starters explain to us what an idiom is.

Bill: An idiom is an expression that is not literal. It would be like we say in English “It’s raining cats and dogs” meaning it’s really pouring out there. If someone does not have the same background as we have is not used to that expression that would really be strange to be “raining cats and dogs.”

Sid: You know one of the ones I’ve wondered about, and I don’t know what your understanding is, where it talks in the New Testament about if “Your right hand offends you cut your hand off.” That had to be an idiom.

Bill: Oh it is. The right hand is a significant too because it means power. See Jesus at the right of God; Jesus was the power of God walking on earth, and the right hand is speaking of power. So it’s your right hand and you cut it off it means you are overbearing that you’re exercising power beyond what’s called for.

Sid: Now recently your wife was promoted she went to heaven, and you have not been speaking. Recently you spoke for the very first time since she was promoted and tell me about that time.

Bill: That was really awesome because it was when she was seriously ill, and then after she died I was just not getting any revelation, I was a sick puppy going around, and really really down. The Lord took this severe pain away from me after he memorial service, but I still wasn’t receiving anything. Then I went and accepted an invitation to a church for June 10th, and 10 days before that I was in prayer at my grandson’s home, early in the morning I had stayed overnight with him. The Lord gave me revelation that just woke me up and brought back energy into my life. Then at that service when I gave that word I really came to life and had more energy, more vitality than I had in years. It’s just awesome what the Lord has done.

Sid: Now both you and your wife are prophets, but had you ever prophesied to the degree you prophesied at that meeting before?

Bill: Not to that degree. I had prophesied quite a bit and some long times, but had been totally wrung out when I finished. After that service I prophesied over everyone in the church prophesied for 2½ hours and was still on my feet with my boot on ready to go, and full of energy. It was astonishing to me. The words that He gave there were several people that needed deliverance and the Lord just brought them set them free right on the spot.

Sid: Just out of curiosity has God given you anything prophetic for this week of interviews?

Bill: Yes. He’s telling me to tell you and our listeners “Get ready, get ready because My Spirit is coming forth now, and I am returning My people to their roots. I’m bringing in those that are grafted in and I want everyone to be ready for change. And the pastors that are coming in, there are many pastors now many more than in the past where it was mostly just congregants that were getting the desire for Jewish roots, but now pastors are crying out and saying “I want truth, I want truth” and their getting it from reading the word. Their getting it and they’re coming in, they are transforming lives, transforming old congregations coming into an understanding of the Jewish roots and going back to the Hebrew Scriptures to see what they need to do, and how they need to do it. It’s My desire that My people be ready and to know that these changes are coming. Sid you’re gonna change too not to in any way to back off of your anointing for evangelism, but to increase an anointing for bringing and leading pastors, and teaching pastors on Jewish roots. That you’re now, that’s an apostolic mission that’s being added to your evangelism. So get ready, get ready here it comes.”

Sid: Well I’m ready Bill. Let’s do a little right now. Do a little teaching say from the 2nd chapter of the book of Acts from your “Power New Testament.”

Bill: Okay I like that because it’s often mistranslated, misunderstood. Start with the first verse “When the day of Shavuot, Pentecost, had come they were all in one place together. And a sound came suddenly out of heaven as bringing a violent wind and it filled the whole House where they were sitting and dividing tongues like fire were seen by them and the flames sat upon each one of them, and all were filled by the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages just as the Spirit was giving them to speak out bodly.” See where they were sitting was on Solomon’s Porch at the temple because in a home to get way over a 100 people sitting in one room is just not realistic. Luke also calls the house the temple, the temple, I mean Luke calls the house and he does in Luke 11:51 he refers to the temple as a house.

Sid: So where did we get it that they were in the upper room?

Bill: Because everyone assumes that a house is a room. (Laughing) It is just a regular house, but they were at the temple. The temple Solomon’s porch was where any group could meet and it would hold hundreds of people. See the people would be seated on the steps and the speaker would be standing below them so the sound would carry upward and you could speak to a very large group without any sound equipment, with no amplification, just the natural air currents.

Sid: Why don’t you flip now to say the 3rd chapter of Acts and comment as you do in your “Power New Testament” on Peter’s statement.

Bill: Okay Acts 3:19 “Therefore you must immediately repent and you must return to God at once for your sins to be wiped out.”

Sid: That’s where that punch comes in Mishpochah in this translation. Have you ever heard a translation like that before? Go ahead Bill.

Bill: And to be “wiped out” is from a Greek word that means obliterated or removed. The word was used for the process that dissolved the ink on a parchment so the parchment could be used again. It’s a parallel to Isaiah 11:25 where God says “He’s the God who erases rebellious sins.” So when God forgives you your sin is totally removed it never happened, it never happened. Satan might have it in his record, but God doesn’t have it on His.
