LAURA: Hi everyone! I’m Laura Harris Smith! Welcome to “Something More!” Listen! Do you need hope in your life? That describes so many people! So many of you! Do you need help? Do you need to understand how to find the presence of God? Where is that? How do you walk in that? These are questions that everybody needs answered and if that’s you and so much more then you need to stay tuned! Because I have with me today Karen Schatzline from Remnant Ministries International. And so I’m so excited to talk to you! I want you to start, this is where I want to start because this is a foundation for everything else. Tell me a little bit about Remnant Ministries because what you have described to me I’ve really not heard a lot of other people doing!
KAREN: Well I’m just so excited because my husband and I have actually been traveling for 20 years!
LAURA: Wow!
KAREN: Across the nation. And as evangelists and we’re just excited because everywhere we go we’re seeing an awakening take place not only in the church but across America! Because, young people all over the world, it doesn’t matter what age they are. It can be elderly people. It can be young people. That there is an awakening taking place of a generation that’s rising up that’s saying “there’s got to be more!” “There’s got to be more than what we’ve settled for!” And they’re really hungry for the supernatural!
LAURA: Yeah. Across denominational lines even.
KAREN: Yes! They’re not afraid to experience the presence of God and they’re a generation rising up, that’s saying, “We’re going to be the remnant! We’re going to be the remnant that’s going to stand up for truth in America!” That’s going to stand up and say “we’re going to lead a revolution to lead our generation back to the presence of God!”
LAURA: You know that’s really interesting because I was having a conversation with someone just yesterday about how this generation, millennials, that is the question they ask. The Baby Boomers asked, “What is good?” The Generation X-ers asked, “What is real?”
KAREN: Yes.
LAURA: This generation says “What is truth?”
KAREN: Yes!
LAURA: “What is, true?”
KAREN: That’s right.
LAURA: They’re not interested unless it’s truth!
KAREN: That’s right!
LAURA: So I love it that you are trying to reach that demographic. So I want you to tell me then and I’m especially excited about your teaching school.
KAREN: Yes.
LAURA: Because you’re not just doing this. There are a lot of evangelists out there, praise God. But you are actually reproducing yourself and your vision into what? Your school has graduated over 700 people now!
KAREN: Yes. Yes.
LAURA: So tell us about that.
KAREN: We’ve graduated over 700 young people who are not just graduating from the school but they’re going into full-time ministry!
LAURA: Uh-huh!
KAREN: And they’re leading that revolution all over the world! All over the nation, students come from everywhere to be a part of the school! Because when we went on the road as evangelists we didn’t want to just be a traveling evangelist that just showed up in a town, did our thing, and left.
LAURA: [laughing]
KAREN: With nothing to show for it! We wanted to be able to be training up on a regular basis young people, teaching them and launching them into ministry!
LAURA: Mmm.
KAREN: Teaching them what it means to stand for truth.
LAURA: Yeah.
KAREN: Teaching them what it means to have integrity. To have, godly character in their lives. Teaching them what it means to be able to operate in the Spirit but to walk in love and purity and hope and purpose! And so we have young people that travel with us everywhere we go!
